Wow Fogs is really getting serious about being serious lol. Was there anything that influenced this sudden burst of seriousness or just the fact that we're soon approaching spring and want to get back into serious training after the mucking about during the winter months? Ef1 & me are regularly discussing all of you, your strengths & weaknesses, what you need to work on and the best approach to help you improve. Some of you respond better to the sensitive approach some of you respond better to a more direct encouragement, some of you are more complicated, some of you are shy and some of you are confident. You should take into consideration that Ef1 & me do this only because we enjoy it and we want to see you all become as good as you can, We arnt looking for glory or personal success. Our enjoyment comes from having you all as friends and being a part of your development into fine young adults. becoming the best you can at what you have chosen to do. We see that many of you have now been practicing for upto, & over, 2 years and are obviously dedicated. The question now is .... do you want to step up to higher level......... Time will tell. Not meaning to be patronising here but it seems to me from my experience that groups of young people work better with the direction & guidance of adults. We believe this is partly why Flying Squad has been so successful as a group. There have been many other teams created during the past couple of years that last for a short time before they dis-band or slowly fall apart. It is the organisation & structure within Flying Squad that has held it together. All that said and done i hope you get an idea to our motivation towards implementing a more strict disciplined approach to your jumping experience. As i said before we monitor you all to see where you are at with your development. We believe that the time is right to advance things. so you all have the opportunity to develop and fullfill your potential. If we didnt try to implement this we would be missing the window of opportunity for Flying Squad to become more than just an ordinary team. We want you all to excel! We have been talking for a while about the best approach to encourage you all to get more serious because we understand that to move Flying Squad on from just a group of youngsters who jump around and have a laugh to a serious and respected team the only way to go is to give you the chance to proove yourselves.. We know this is what you want for yourselves as individuals and for Flying Squad as a group. And so do we. If any of you have any ambition to making a career from what you are learning during these years you will have to get seriously fit. There is only one way to get fit and strong. You must have as a priority, self determination, then you need comitment to the effort it takes to train hard regularly. These are the days that will make you into the man (physically) that you are going to be. If you put the effort into training you will become a big strong impressive man, I promise you that is true. As Forbzie said "The time has come". he's right the time has come you are ready for this now it is the right time. This is the reason why we are doing it now and the reason why i am so serios about being serious. This stage of your development isnt a joke it is the most serious element of your physical development. That's why it is so important that i here you all say 'I am serious'. If you want it, you can have it. It is important to add here, anyone who doesnt want to advance to a more serious level does not have to be concerned, Flying Squad is still your team and you will be considered as much a part of things as always we do not want to push anyone away.

Had a phonecall from my cousin today and I explained to her how I got my injury and stuff, but then she said that she doesn't want me to do any parkour at all until my A-level exams are over because if I get another injury during my exam time, I'll be in pain or at least in serious discomfort and might affect my exam grades.
Well I told her I'd think about it, but she does have a point so I dont think I should take parkour proper seriously just for the moment, but what do you guys think I should do? Should I put in the same amount of effort as I was doing before the injury, or should I do parkour but just take it easy or do you think I should just stop it out-right until my exams are over? I have no idea what to do, please help.

I think you should get serious about parkour. This means that you will be more focused, this means that you would be more carefull so you'll get less injuries. I'm serious you should think bout it!

concentrate on exams, but if ur like me you will eventually need a release, so set at least one day for parkour. it doesnt even mean you have to go to london, do what i did, train round your local. study for your exams, do what u need, but keep training. the excercise and accomplishments will (i think personally) benefit you more because you'll be in a better more relaxed state of mind and more likely to take in what your learning then thinking... i want to be outside doing something. if you set a day to train then your more likely to think "as long as i have done this/that/whatever, i can train all day.
