Ok I didn't write this ,I have nicked it from the london lite. It's about a man training for the marathon. I have missed some bits out becuase it didn't relate to fitness. The article is about him training getting in shape with a girls football team. So here are the tips given (written word to word like in the paper,)
1: Ignore fellow runners Every man and his dog is running the marathon . If fellow runners are waving at you in acknowledgement as they fly past,find a different route. The last thing you want is to get friendly with someone you'll never beat on the race day.
2: Punishment is good Punish the faster girls by giving them press-ups or sit-ups. Do it with them as it will help you catch your breath in preparation for the next drill, but don't allow your muscles to cool down.
3: Enjoy your training Whatever it is. Try skipping or running backwards every so often. If you can't be bothered to leave the house, try circuit through your living room, with the remote control close to hand.

4: Get your miles in Get on a bus with a single fare to somewhere dodgy. Work out an escape route and jog your way home to safty. Anything which isn't walking is a bonus, especially over a prolonged period. You know your in trouble if you're being overtaken by an old lady in a mobility buggy. Muggers with knifes will help you move quicker.
