flying squad is an organisation set up by jon and fern with the aim of helping others to better themselves physically and mentally.
Flying Squad will accept anyone who is willing to put in as much as they get out they dont need to be any certain kind of person they simply have to have the right kind of attitude towards creativity, training & progression.
Flying Squad thrives on diversity encouraging individuality and personal expression in what ever helps the individual to discover where they want to go with there own personal development in PK/FR practice and in the individuals everyday life.
Every member of Flying Squad should aim to discover there own personal expression through movement to build confidence in your own style and building confidence in who you are within your own character.
we are a multi media experience involving sport, martial arts, dance, music, film making and art.Encouraging individuality, breaking stereotypes without expectation, pere pressure or any idea that there is one way of practicing.
we aim to offer help and advice to people and beginners are allways welcome.seeing as beginners are the ones who need the most help we will allways have beginners around. we would hope that as some of you get beyond the initial learning process you will go on to form teams and creative partnerships of your own, while still being much a part of the flying squad 'family'..
It is your opinion and your willingness to express yourself in any form whether it be spoken, written, artistic or any other from which you should build the confidence to express your own unique personallity. It is this confidence in your own uniqueness that will take you further in what you hope to achieve
"Obviously, you should expect a large group to have a wide variety of talents and skills that branch away from the parkour-based abilities. This should definitely be encouraged because while we may believe in PK4Life, it's not the only thing we have to live for. " sandman
"There where always teams around which seemed to be exclusive even a touch clicky, made of traceurs who where obviously at a higher skill level than the average. As we got to know the regulars we began to see that there was a need for a group that was less selective in who they allowed to become part of the team Many of the regulars in those days would generally be without an organised team as our skill levels wernt at a high enough level to represent the established teams. Although the desire to improve and refine our technique & ability was as strong as anyone. As time went by a group of us would meet up regulary & jump together, we wernt doing the difficult stuff but we were having a great time as we all helped eachother to improve." jon
"when i say good i dont mean in the sense of being the best FreeRunner although it is most important that each member pushes to be as good a Traceur as possible. It is about being as good a person as you can in your life, in your interactions with other people on the planet, Trying to treat all people with respect no matter where they come from or what there beliefs." jon
"its not about being the best its about trying your best." fern
Keep on pushing yourself creatively whether artistically or physically that is all Flying Squad asks of it's members.
