Hey everyone.
First of all I do not mean to cause offence or anything with this post.
The forums are dead. I haven't seen a new post in months and months and months barring the one from the 12th of april. I am unsure as to whether Flying Squad exists as a team anymore. I knwo that for me and Rich Flying Squad is existent as an idea and as a hope, the reality however seems to be that the team has died.
I am writing this to ask permission from any members who still check these forums and particularly from the founders of Flying Squad. I would like to take over the name of Flying Squad and build up the team to it's former glory.
If anyone has any objections then please let me know and I will not do anything. However if I don't get a reply to this post in the next month or so I am going to take it as the team is dead and will begin using the Flying Squad name to promote parkour and spread the message in my own way.
It is such a shame that this forums has died out and that the team seems to have fallen apart as it was an inspiration to so many people. When I first began my journey I took so much inspiration from the team and I owe Flying Squad so much because of the role you have all played in my journey, this siw hy I don't want to just sit by and let Flying Squad fall by the wayside.
So please let me know what you think.
Peace and Love to you all.
Dan

mmm i dont know what to tell you, those of us who still meet up and train still see ourselves as flying squad, granted no one uses the site any more. Me kingo and olly entered a few bboy comps last year under the name flying squad so that spread the name amongst the bboy community.bo is allways training in london and portsmouth and he loves telling people about flying squad. the only thing that puts me of your post is the fact that you say you want to use the name to spread the message in your own way, now if your own way is different to how we have allwys done things i would recomend you use a different name, but if its the same way as flying squad has allways run then i dont see a problem, what are your plans for the future?

Thats great that there are still some of you guys out there! it seems like a lot of people have stopped practicing.
When I say in my own way, I mean the way that I have learned from training with flying squad. I am just so used to hearing people talking about their ideals and philosophies so I normally talk about my ideas and philosophies, which stem from all that I learned from flying squad. Bad wording on my part there.
As for my plans at the moment I haven't got anything definite as yet, I am just planning on putting together a website, trying to revive the forum and encouraging any traceurs I meet on my journey to get in contact and spread the message to others. I am also thinking of making a facebook group with information about flying squad and with links to the website and forums.
As for the future I would like to be able to have an online environment that any traceur can join and discuss ideas about parkour and training techniques as well as discussing training locations. Eventually I want to get into schools and community centres to spread parkour to more people. This probably won't happen for quite a while though due to studying at uni.
So would it be a problem for me to go ahead and start spreading the flying squad message and promoting parkour using the team name?

Nice to see Ef1 and Crow still using the forum.
With the Facebook page, we did have one made but caused a few arguments with a couple of members. To be honest Ef1 and Fogs are the two main guys to ask about that.
Crow if your going to promote Flying-Squad like you said, i'm sure nobody would mind you doing so, would be nice to get the forum flowing again or even getting a couple of members out and about.
I'm a bit distant from the 'freerunning' scene but have been trying to make regular visits to the East London Gym, it's been a successful start and hopefully will carry on.
Met up with Tola last week at the gym and trained with him, he has made ALOT of progress from the last time i saw him a year ago which did open up my eyes a bit, but glad to see Flying Squad progressing.

thanks for replying guys. nice to see that Flying Squad still goes on =]
I will try and spread the FS message to as many people as I can and hopefully bring some new people to the forums too. Would anyone mind if I set up a facebook group for Flying Squad?
And would it be cool if I used the Flying squad name in videos and images?

Flying Squad is still carrying on. I have noticed more of the us seem to have things to do, Olly has uni as do many of us. Kim is far away studying something to do with science which confuses me. Or people getting jobs. i work in a pub doing nightshifts while at uni and don't get home till 4am. Or as I see on many FS members facebook pictures (yes I check up to see what you guys are up to) are enjoying drinks, going out at night, and trying to dance like Kingo. Cos let's face it I got the moves However I know one member out every weekend training southbank or other places (I feel bad not talking to him as much) but I feel he carries on the Flying Squad morals that is Tola. Flying Squad may not have the big glory days, but I think the main thing with flying squad is meeting (which I can proudly say) people I class as very very close friends which I don't know what I would be like without meeting them.

Kingo said that this may not be the big glory days but you know what, I think we might actually be on our way to returning to them glory days.
Seeing as I've been out of action on account to Jumper's knee for umpteen months, like Kid, I too have been kinda distant from the Parkour scene. Even though I'm STILL not 100% better, I recently decided to start again.
Since then I've been hearing that others have been wanting to start back up again as well like Rui, PKPete and Zetan to name a few off the top of my head. On top of that, reading here that Kingo, Beau and Tola(who used to always bug me to start PK again lol) are still regulars and Kid's starting back up again is giving me great hope that FS will rise out of the ashes and become a proper team once more.
With all these people starting back up it looks to me that once you're a traceur, your always a traceur lol. This is going to be a GREAT summer, I can feel it!
EDIT: Just read over my post and I realised it's been a long time since I've spoken to Sam and I'm guessing he's grown up a lot since then. So Sam, I'm just wondering if you'd still prefer be called Kid? If not, I'll call you Sam till we find a new nickname.

Yo! Long time no type. Flying Squad never died, it was just on holiday for a while. I have become dependant on free movement as Uni just gave me work and I needed to get away from it. I'll be bringing something new and somebody new to the table, you better be ready for summer. I'm going to be flying everyday, whether it be above our old stomping grounds (Southbank) or over new undiscovered territories.
I hope to see you all very soon. Z

Hey everyone, I know it has been ages since I posted here, basically I nearly died, it turned out that I am type 1 diabetic. wehn i was rushed to hospital my parents were told to prepare for the worst but I pulled through and have recovered for the most part, I was ill again due to my diabetes but as of now I am completely fine. Sorry for the lack of posting and thank you ef1 for making me a mod and allowing me to become a bigger part of flying squad. It's great to see all of the comments from everyone that still trains and believes in flying squad. I have just begun to seriously train again and hopefully will reach the same stage i was when i fell ill and can begin progressing past that point. I am just starting the website for flying squad now and will be spreading the word as often as i can. Thank you to everyone who has helped me on my journey and I hope to see you all soon. peace and love!
