no that's wrong EF1.
Ask me this then
If a child sees something and knows what it is before it says what it is, what would a blind child do?

no that's wrong EF1. Ask me this then If a child sees something and knows what it is before it says what it is, what would a blind child do? A blind child just wont know what it is as he cant see it. Simple as... *!Confused!* I dont know if I'm reading this wrong or something but a child knowing what something is before they say what it is, is totally unrelated to a blind child who wont be able to recognise what it he's meant to be looking at as he cant see it.

im the same as you beast, i dont know if its the most deepest thing i have ever heard or not. with the blind child i would say his other senses come into play more. He would recognise his parents by there voice and smell, he would have these stored in his memory. What any of this has to do with the original photo and question i dont know, i am looking forward to finding out.

I think EF1 and Beast are nearly there, a blind child would recongnise though voice, smell and touch. If the child doesn't know it's me, what means you think you can? Ceci n'est pas une pipe.

Discourse on Method - Descartes We cannot know for certain that seeing is believing. There could be a source of deception that causes us to believe in the existence of anything outside ourselves. The only thing we can absolutely be certain of is that we ourselves exist. For non-existent entities do not and cannot raise questions. Is there an Evil Deceiver?

I think it's time to tell the answer Good statement Zetan said "We cannot know for certain that seeing is believing." Now that may be me in the photo but it's not the real me. Going back to the children, the child who can see may see it's me however how would the blind know because they can not touch me as they would be touching a screen. That is an representation of me, but it's not the real me. This painting has changed art with that view here's the link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Treachery_of_Images

nice one lads good to see some decent discussion, i remember when kingo first joined most of his posts were unreadable now look at him discussing deep philosophical issues, it brings a tear of pride to my eye.
