I know the method of making an avatar, but I can't exactly remember what program you need to use (something like gif maker). I know this much: - You get your desired footage,
- Import it into Windows Movie Maker,
- Take a snapshot of every frame of the clip you want to use, using the "Next Frame" and "Take Picture" buttons located just below the preview screen,
- You'll probably end up with 50-150 individual pictures depending on how long the clip is,
- Get all those pictures and import them into this program and it'll compile all of the pics together to create one moving picture.
- And hey presto, you've got yourself a moving image (.gif) ready to upload onto photobucket or the likes and use as your avatar.
Hope this helped.

beast . thats a stupidly long method, all you do is export the clip as a series of frames, using virtual dub, or open the video with adobe imageready, then just edit it down so it small and export is as a gif...
easy.

If you have the video clip you could have always used gifninja.com. It's free and you just upload the video. ^^
