joined the club today. Did about ten solo b-tucks in the local park today onto woodchip. Was crapping it but forced myself to do it, i new i would be safe, i'de reached the point where i can comfortably b-tuck on sprung floors, the next logical step in progression for me was to b-tuck onto woodchip. next step is grass then the hard grey stuff. I'm learning that the best aproach (for me) is to focus on the technique and not think about the situation too much. Still need to add height but it's all moving along very well now.

Thanks for the encouragement Jungle, any help or advice is really appreciated. I've been a spectator for so long now because of the ongoing ankle problems that i had over the last year or so. It feels so good to not have to follow around like a freerun groupee anymore. I've been desperate to join in to show myself & the rest of you that i can do these things. I would love to progress to b-tucking off a phonebox.
Age isnt a problem, if your mind is right and you keep in good shape and dont believe all the nonsense about being past it at thirty then you can go on for years & years. I am equally as capable as i was at twenty, my ability hasnt become less as i get older. My aims and ambitions are equal to the rest of yours and i dont see myself as being at any disadvantage because of age. Hopefully the example set by me, Fern & Beau will show all you younger peoplpe that you have years of Urban skills ahead of you if you have the right attitude. i've said to myself for many years now that i would b-tuck before i was forty; life has a funny way of proving you right when you have the right focus & determination.

Well done Fogs I can't wait to see those Back-tucks. I wish I could get over the fear to do things by myself though I did learn a headspring in my garden, now I'm trying to keep it by doing over and over agian, hopefully I will have double legs in a couple of months. But Well done fogs agian can't wait to see them.

thinking that, i think u fern and beau should make your own video and show it off and show people that age is all in the mind... it would be inspirational to others and might make more people inclined to have a go. i cant tell u how amazed i was when i saw u attempt a wall flip and Btuck at the sand a few weeks ago.
tips wise, u say u need more height, all i can suggest there is, dont fling urself back on take off, go up before u go back. common prob if anything, mine were eactly like that in the begin, hope its of use

When i b-tuck there isnt too much problem with travelling backwards (about 12-16 inch's). I do go pretty much straight up & down. Think i need to refine the tech and also improve the power in the relevant muscle groups to add projective power to the jump. Also think i still have some fear with commiting to jumpimg as high as i can.
Thanks again Jungle.

i guess i cant rele comment without seeing it with my eyes. but if ur not commiting to the high jump, then your rotating to earlier. otherwise, all ill suggest is working on the actually tuk. the tighter, the better.

Well done fogs, I've seen you doin those back-tucks on the sand and they look impressive. I like your approach to focus on the technique and not think about the situation too much, need to start applying it to me.
