well it's pretty self explanatory. Freedom of speech is when an individual has the freedom to say (and do depending on how pedantic you are) anything you want without fear of reprocutions. of course freedom of speech doesn't exist, it probably never will because you will always have people judge you or you'll simply be braking the law. Briton isn't a country where freedom of speech exists. There are still things you canot just stand up and say without ending up under arrest. Although i have to say that isn't altogether a bad thing. I for one am not particularly comfortable with people like Abu Hamza attempting to insight hatred amongst the young and confused. thats why freedom of speech is so dangerous. There will always be those who are looking for an answer or an easy way out and sometimes that will be offered to them but at the expense of others. It's a hard issue because on one hand, yeah people should have their freedom but on the other if that means innocent people are going to die then...

Freedom of speech isn't just the obvious, it's about the ethics behind the mask of freedom. Nothing is truly free, everything has its constraints, by putting speech into the category of 'Freedom of Speech', it is already tied down by certain rules; rules that say what free speech is and what it isn't. People still stick to morals and civilized behavior created by society. These in turn, push our ideals over into what we think is 'Freedom of Speech', but what is actually coordinated by other members of society. But don't take my word for it.
